Comcast is making more low-income families eligible for a program that offers $10-a-month broadband Internet access.
Comcast launched Internet Essentials in 2011 for families with children who receive free or reduced-price school lunches. Since then, 350,000 households including 1.4 million people have subscribed to the service. The program also offers customers $150 computers, having sold 30,000 of them over the past three years, according to Comcast.
